Do you Coupon?

I just returned from Publix where I bought - - -

6 pillsbury cake mixes
2 pillsbury frostings
6 jars Ragu sauces
2 Alouette cheese individual cheese portions packages
1 sliced swiss cheese
2 diognorio parmesian cheese
1 can chilli dog sauce
2 packages Thomas Bagels

Total out the door (after coupons) was $14....

I can appreciate the organic stance on life, but I have a family of 5 to feed on a single income. Although I would prefer organic, in today's world, it is all about how far I can stretch the dollar.

OBTW, $12 for an organic chicken is probably not that far off the cost of feeding a bird to maturity.

With a nod towards the organic way of life, I do grow my own vegetables and of course eat our own eggs. I make killer cinnamon rolls from scratch too.
Beyond that, I figure if I am cooking it at home, it has to be healthy then the drive thru options that most of America indulges in. LOL

You make very valid points in your post there. I agree, we do have to do what we can on a single income. Growing your own produce, which we do also, is a great way. I only wish we could do it all year long. Being in Maryland, the best we can do in the winter are greens.

I am beginning to get the impression from reading posts and articles that it really does look like I am not saving any money if we do meat birds by the time I factor in all the costs which include processing because I sure as heck won't even try that myself.

math ace, it's the can can sale at shoprite... i think that might be local though, northeast.
anyways, i think i shall can when i can afford to get the whole set up. :)

Yep, it must be regional because I don't have a shoprite. Good luck with whatever a can can sale is....

I follow a couple sites that post links for even Whole Foods coupons so I do get to use a few. Thank you for sharing these however.

OMG, You will NOT believe what I stumbled across today at the DOLLAR TREE....

Kelloggs Crunchy Nut Cereal... Can you believe it?
They were in the 13.4 ounce box size...

FOR a $1 each, That alone was a SCREAMING good deal.

I just so happened to have a $1 off 3 boxes of kelloggs cereal coupon on me...
That made the final price .67 a box!

Now it is a SCREAMING GREAT deal....
