If I don't know why its sick, then I won't eat it.
If it was a known injury or something, I most likely would. You can always bury it in the garden for fertilizer, that way its not wasted.

If I don't know why an animal is sick or what with, no way am I eating it. In most cases it's probably fine but why take the chance?
I will, however, eat an injured bird.

Nasty bacteria can grow fast, and it isn't worth it. Also, carcass quality won't be best.

He was fine the day before and then just got sick, when I came to check on him this morning he was already dead. Threw him in the chicken pit.
