I would probably recommend quarantine first like a month before putting with other birds if starting a rescue. Even though it's hard because some illnesses are dormant but still contagious if that makes sense

Quarantine unfortunately doesn’t help with the worst of these diseases since carriers show no symptoms and the diseases are incurable anyway. Unless the quarantine involves testing, which can be very expensive.

I like a good crow in the morning.

My boys crow all morning, afternoon, evening and throughout the night if they see me checking on everyone or they're disturbed in any way I LOVE loud birds. Roosters are loud and beautiful so I have a soft spot in my heart for them. "Dealing with" too many roosters is one of the most difficult parts of keeping poultry, for me.
I've lost two roosters since I started. One I rehomed as a young cockerel and the other one, which was my absolute favorite bird, died from a stupid change I didn't think enough about beforehand. Thinking about it still gets me upset.
I've got a few too many. If I could weed out the aggressive boys, I'd have just under a dozen. My boys are considered older when it comes to freezer camp so even the aggressive boys would be difficult to rehome at this point.

My boy crow thought out the day sometimes but he's pretty quiet, I Really wish I had a louder boy but I love my Romeo.
