I have a total of 16 roosters. This is from three separate coops.

I've got 3 Silkie cockerels, 2 Red JungleFowl cockerels, & 2 Brassy Back OEGB cockerels also, so 7 new cockerels to sort out.

About 'rooster rescue'; think hard about biosecurity! Marek's disease, for example, and Mycoplasma.

To have the best chance at avoiding Marek’s (or other viral diseases like it) you must avoid buying chickens altogether, not just free roosters. Most of the places I rescued roosters from also sold laying hens, pullets, and chicks.

None. Most of them were killed or fled during a predator attack, and the last rooster I had died of Marek’s. I would love to have a rooster-only flock again someday, but I would probably only get vaccinated birds.
I sorry for your losses.

I would probably recommend quarantine first like a month before putting with other birds if starting a rescue. Even though it's hard because some illnesses are dormant but still contagious if that makes sense

Going to go with... not really sure. I have a confirmed rooster (has fathered 4), a suspected cockerel at 16 weeks (has not crowed, appears to be lacking saddles, might have hackles, has strong comb and wattle), as well as the 4 mystery chicks.
