If its the city law that your coop can't be within 35 feet of the neighbors yard, than I would ask the city if you could just put it there because my neighbors don't care. Yes, if you are ok with it, I think you should be able to put your coop closer than 20 feet if you want.

Are these your city laws?
Yeah, they are, but my neighbors or totally ok with it and my family doesn't care how close it is.
(i plan on putting the coop, like, 10 ft away from my house and like, 10 from my neighbors PROPERTY. it is probably at least 40 ft. from their HOUSE

Does the coop need to be 35 feet from the property line or 35 feet from any residence?

I'm back! And I have one more...

... Question!

Okay,

what breed for a rooster... Is more gentle for a smaller hen?

NOT a bantam though, Faverolle.

And even though,
some breeds are "RATED" nice,
which has a better track record?

Thanks!

Hello,

I have 3 Salmon Faverolle's, 3 Blue Cochin's and 3 SS all in one coop,
we recently put the 4 Brahma's that were with 'em with the Del/Dork rooster.

My Dad and I are contemplating getting a rooster for the mixed flock,
we REALLY want a Blue Cochin rooster, but our Faverolle hens are almost like bantams (but not.)
He might be too big.

Even contemplating a SS rooster, BTW how much do they weigh?
And the Faverolle's squat when we walk into the room, imagine a Cochin!

That might not work... LOL!
