Do you keep CD's in your car?

That's what I do. I put it on random play and if I don't feel like listening to a song that comes up I push the button to change it. I can do that by feel.

I'm not knocking people who enjoy that type of music, just pointing out that the theif wasn't going to be able to unload that type of music in a college town

I leave my CDs in a zippered pouch and a CD visor - I can't imagine a self-respecting criminal breaking into a minivan filled with carseats (and covered in french fries) expecting to find big ticket items

Unless they have a hot buyer for the Best of Raffi CD.

Sometimes I listen to books on CD in the car - I do make copies of those and keep the originals at home. More because I'm worried about them getting scratched up in the car.

Never had a problem with them warping in the heat.

No, because I use my mp3 player.

When I was in high school, I kept a few in a zippered pouch and stored them under the seat. I never had any problems with them overheating (usually, it was more of a problem of getting them to warm up in the winter!).

I vote with the people who said make copies. I gave my dad a nice CD player for his truck. He has had it stolen several times (!) even though he keeps the truck locked. The last time they took his visor holder and his CDs. He doesn't listen to today's pop music. It didn't matter. They took them anyway.

Make copies of your CDs. Put them in a holder under the seat. Leave the originals at home. They don't warp in the heat, but that way any damage or loss is easy to fix.
