Do you kiss your chickens?

I should have known I wasn't the only freak!!! I just had to take a moment to visit BYC! I'm a chicken kisser - I just can't help it.

And, my daughter and I are "chicken-sniffers". They all smell a little different - but wonderfully earthy, barny, soft and wonderful. We try to get a nightly chicken-sniff for therapy. Ahhhhh! ok - have I admitted to much?!??!

Wait... there are people that don't kiss thier pets?!?! I love mine. It's cold here so I've been outside repeatedly checking and cuddling them. I'd bring them inside if I didn't think it would be the final piece of evidence my husband needed to get this crazy chicken lady in to some sort of chicken rehab program! I've been lurking in the shadows here for a few months but have gotten all sorts of helpful advice and much needed laughter. Love the "You know you're a crazy chicken lady/ gent..." thread. I could relate to so many.

I think animals are emotionaly comforting
I DO kiss my chickens. And everymoment I get. And I am proud to say that.
I kiss them anywhere on the face.

I have a few that loved to be kissed on the cheeks. I always tell my polish hen she has stinky breath. whewwww its enough for me to pass out LOLZ

I'm glad someone brought up smell. My chickens and llamas have such a wonderful smells to them. The llamas smell like clean, warm, woody wool, but that's because they are total vegetarian. I like the smoothness/powdery feeling of the chickens. I love my dog's ear flaps...they way they feel and smell.

I am a nurse of many years and much prefer my animal companions to people. We are here to take care of our companions and vice versa. They aren't people, but work just as well, most of the time.

I adore my husband and love my best friends. I'll kiss them before the chickens, however.

Oh I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one that inhales deeply before the kiss on the fluffy back.

How can they roll in dirt and dried poo all day and still be beautiful and clean smelling????????
