Do you know someone who is obsessed with video games?

A woman at work has a 10 year old special needs boy & a 4 year old girl. This lady pays, Vampire wars, farmville, farmtown, mafia wars, Ihearts (what the heck is that?)and several more online, and spends 8 1/2 hrs a day at work. I joined Farmville one week before her, well she has already passed my level. I get on, tend the farm & animals, then I am off. I may comment to few friends. I think some of my group are spending too much time playing games instead of living life with thier families! I am rethinking MY computer use!

I guess we're a geek family. When my daughter was about 3 she asked for an "allowance" so she could get her own World of Warcraft account.

I mostly post on BYC if I'm tabbed out of WoW waiting for someone else in a group to get back from whatever break they're on.

Or when I'm home with the sniffles, like today.

...back on topic...
One of my friends parents are addicted to WOW...they come home and sit down and start playing and dont stop till they have to a) eat or b) sleep. they have Paid alot of money for their whole household to play WOW..thats alot of money down the drain for a game.

If they have enough money so everyone can get their own computer and their own service account, it might be fun. We have two computers and my youngest daughter plays with her dad sometimes. It has actually helped bond them together. They love it. He also takes her fishing and places like that. So, they don't just sit in front of the computer all day.

I played WoW almost everyday for 4.5 years. I recently quit. It was extremely difficult for me to walk away from all the friends I had made since I make friends better online than I do in real life. It's an engaging addictive game. I agree with some of the others, if she's functioning at some level in the rest of her life, let her be. She'll come around.

3 desktops, although one non functioning, of course it's mine

I really need to fix that, I miss photoshop and 3d modeling.

2 laptops, although one IS my work computer, so no one is allowed to touch that for anything. WoW sure would run nicely on it though if I was allowed.

Darn old employers and their "sensitive information" and "security" anyway.

I have to agree with rainplace, it is extremely hard to quit. I have friends from gaming that I'm still in touch with even though I don't play much, if at all, anymore.
