Do you like just to sit and watch your flock be chickens?

Yesterday my DH was talking about our chickens to a friend of his and told him that if he's ever in a bad mood, he sits out on the porch to watch the chickens and pretty soon he's not in a bad mood anymore.

I'm a much happier person after a few minutes of chicken therapy. My husband - and even the neighbors say it's just amazing how my face brightens up when I go out back to visit with the girls!

I am so happy to read all of your posts. I needed this today. I am also glad I am not the only one that enjoys watching my chickens. I would have never thought that I would become so addicted to them as I have.

I love to end my work-day with a cocktail and some chicken therapy. After work I collect the eggs, give treats and hugs to the hens that will let me. Even cleaning chicken poo is not a chore. They are so pleasant to be around. When I watch them, I can notice if they are ok, limping, anything weird going on. I wish I would have chickens when my kids were growing up. Young people need to know where their food comes from.

I have been sitting in a 4' X 12' coop with my new little babies for over 1 1/2 hours we shared a turkey sandwich with swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, bread and one of their favorites red seedless grapes. They go crazy when I bite them in half and they run around and destroy the 1/2 I gave them to eat. one of my fun sitting around things I do with them. Yesterday I brought 25 crickets into the coop and let me say IT WAS A SLAUGHTER and one of the funniest mornings I have spent in a while.

If you can't find me... Look no further than the chicken run!!!

I generally prefer the company of my chickens than the company of most humans!! O.K., that may be a bit of an overstatement, but there is nothing more relaxing than watching them interact in their little chicken society. I love that they each have such unique personalities!

Yup! Guilty! My neighbors must think I'm crazy!

at least the ones that I'm not related to. everytime she sees me she asks 'so how's your chickens'? She kinda laughs when she askes... I sit out there or stand in the run and throw boss and scratch. Sooo fun!
