Do you like just to sit and watch your flock be chickens?

Am I the only one that sits INSIDE the run?

I'm not totally nuts, am I?

ABSOLUTELY!
And I also sit inside the coop. inside the run (made the cover netting just over 5 ft so I can walk around) as well as the baby coop inside the big coop! I also work in a fast paced/crazy work environment (FDA documentation for engineers in the medical field) and after the seriousness/professionalism/taking the littlest things so seriously, to come home put on sweats and head out to the coop to watch their crazy antics-pure bliss!!!!! (THe reaction from my co workers seeing me out playing in the coop would be interesting

I sit in the run on a bucket and hang out with some chicken treats. It's tall, so there's no problem getting in and out.
They also have a little fenced-in play yard to range in, and I'm thinking about getting one of those little beach chairs to sit in there with them. The play yard has bird netting over it, so sitting on a regular chair or standing won't work. I will have to crouch and then sit. lol. But i really want to be in there with them. We have too many loose dogs in the neighborhood for me to feel safe letting them take over the whole yard, but their little playpen is a decent size. Right now I have a stool right next to it, but very, very soon, I will have a low-to-the ground chair INSIDE. i love those birds. I love their little warbly noises. I videotape them on my iphone and then watch it before bed. Their noises lull me to sleep.

My dad will call me and ask if he can come watch the chickens. We will sit out there with a cold beer and just watch them and my kids play. It is so relaxing. I didn't know how much fun they would be.

So I'm not the only one who sits on an overturned milk crate and hangs with her peeps? Whew!

I visit my girls every morning before getting my kids up and ready for school and I go to work, then again after work but before I pick the kids up from school, than yet again right after dinner so I can chat with them and watch them all hop into the coop at bedtime. They are the best stress reducers ever and I wish I had gotten them years ago.

I made their run roof tall enough for me to half-way walk in and I sit there with them. The coop is pretty small. My hubby jokes that I would rather spend a day off with the chickens than with him....

Not really, but my gals are a really close second...haha

I love to sit in the coop with my little d'uccle chickens and just watch them run around and play. I have several of them that love to come sit on my shoulders and pull on my hair. I have a hard time getting work done in or around the coop, because I am always stopping to see what the chickens are doing.

I agree with everyone here, lol. My husband gets so upset with me when we're trying to get work done around the yard. He says I could stand and watch the birds all day if I could and I tell him darn right I could. Every bird has his or her own personality and I like to learn each and every one of them. We raise a lot of different varieties of birds and they are all named, lol. LOVE MY BIRDS!!!!!

Aw, this thread makes me really happy. Just the other day I was telling my husband how older people living alone should get chickens...less work than a dog, they give you eggs, and such fun and companionship.

When my daughter comes home from second grade, the first thing she does is head outside to see the chickens and give them treats....I think it's her stress relief, too!
