Do you read books more than once?

I am a re-reader. Would that make me a serial reader? Ah well.....yes, there are a few books I have read annually since I was a teenager (13) I am 50 now. As has been pointed out before, I am always discovering things I never saw before due to maturation and life experience.

My children know if there is a paperback that is water logged along the edges of the pages on the shelf it is special...I pick up multiple copies of old favorites, usually at second hand stores, just for reading in the tub.

I re-read for sure! I always find new things in good books. It is usually years or at the very least many months between re-readings. Some books just get better with each reading, others fade. Some books I loved as a teen I loved even more as an adult.

A favorite that very few people read but I loved for years is A Canticle for Leobowitz. I first read that in high school but have had to buy new copies as the old one finally fell to pieces!

I also keep my Isaac Asimov's magazines and re-read those. Dozens of short stories per edition means I am bound to have forgotten one. Sometimes I get caught up in a book and trying to find out what happens I sort of gulp it down. Then I need to re=read it and savor the fine points.

I reread all the time, I have hundreds of books I keep just so I can read them again. If I really liked the book, I like to revisit it and relive everything I liked about it.

I Must Admit...I have Read the Twilight Saga books over 3 Times....

I love them though!

Yes, I read books more than once. Especially now that I have my Kindle. I read all non-fiction, I don't know if I would bother reading a fiction once, never mind twice. But I buy a lot of books on Buddhism, which sometimes takes me several listens to fully absorb. Anything that teaches me something I'll read more than once. It's amazing how many times I've gotten something new out of a book that I didn't catch the first time around.

I sometimes re-read my favorite part of the books, but I normally don't re-read them. NORMALLY. However, I have re-read the Hunger Games series. Catching Fire twice, Mockingjay twice, The Hunger Games 7 times.

Love that book

I re-read books, though usually it's informational books, books on history, sociology, and my currant passion, books on soil make up and plant genetics.

I re-read my favorite books a lot. Every year I re-read Jan Karon's Mitford Series because I am so attached to those characters and I'm re-reading Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments series right now in anticipation of the fourth book being released next month. Since Jean Auel's releasing the last of the Earth's Children books, I should re-read those too. Oh, and I have re-read Memoirs of a Geisha more times than I can count (don't judge a book by its movie- read the book if you haven't. Even if it's not all historically correct, it's still a good story). For some reason, I pick up that book when I am depressed or just having a hard time with life, it comforts me somehow.
