Do you spell it Gray or Grey?

Grey. It's what I read all the time as a kid...nevermind that I was reading old English classics!! I love the way they spell things like color with a u added, too!!!

The colour is grey!

Gray as in Gray Squirrel which is grey in colour....

I used to spell it grey until an annoying 6th grade teacher decided that that was *not* the proper way to spell "gray" and marked my spelling wrong until I change it. I think I'm going to try and go back to "grey" though.

I like "theatre" better too!

I am sorry but I am a picky Australian virgo, gray is not a word in my vocabulary. Maybe it is someone's name, it is not a colour, just like meter is something you put money in, but does not measure up like a metre does.
I too had an argument with a teacher about meter and metre, I don't trust them any more.
I never noticed theatre and theater.
And I hate it when I make typos because I don't make spelling mistakes!
