Do you vaccinate your chickens?

Do you believe in vaccinating your chickens?

Because you blame vaccines for a series of health events your cat suffered with no relationship other than timing, while discounting that the cat was already sick before getting any vaccines - or it would not have been in need of dental surgery. That's just sloppy.

and your blind assertion of a profit motive as if that somehow makes vaccines suspect - though there would be no vaccines in this country if the Gov't hadn't stepped in to prevent the US legal system from pummeling the companies into bankruptcy each time an attorney successfully empanelled a jury who shared your view of science.

Quite simply, reality does not comport with your world view.

Not even peer reviewed. Even they admit it proves nothing, and that the common nucleotides are just 19, out of 3,300.

Even their 1 in 3,000,000 (3 million or 3x 10^6) chance of random occurance estimate pales when you provide context. There are an estimated quadrillion quadrillion viruses. (1x 10^31) Yes, that's 25 more zer0s. For the math impaired?

10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.
1 in 3,000,000 doesn't seem so big, by comparison.

As an aside, NIH is claiming they had a hand in the creation of that patent, and want credit.

So vaccines cause autism in chickens? Obviously ludicrous on its face, as is any pretense at science or statistics in the claim above.

At this point, I must conclude you are either:

a) a troll account.
b) lacking the needed grounding in science, mathematics, and medicine to be worth more of my time on this subject
c) both of the above.

You are not alone in such classification. Good day to you.

I think rudeness is not allowed on byc.

although I didn't study science, mathematics, and medicine I have got MA degree and know how to use my brain. if something can and do harm people (young children) I have a very good reason to doubt if that kind of thing (anything) can be safe/good for animals.

I will pray that you become a better person. I hope you are not a big pharm's robot who attacks people with common sense.

She's not trying to be rude. We are talking about chickens after all. Not humans.

We do need to post more factual content to steer away from misinformation though.:)

I do not vaccinate. Not because I feel vaccines are unsafe or do not work. I have an essentially closed flock. On the rare occasion that I do introduce outsourced adult birds or chicks to my flocks. I am blessed to have a completely separate property. (A couple of miles away) To keep the new birds during their quarantine period. I have found over my years of raising poultry. That having adequate space, keeping the equipment clean, the water fresh and providing quality feed. Are the biggest steps towards having healthy poultry.
