DO YOU WASH & REFRIGERATE YOUR EGGS?-

I’m a newbie, so I collect mine each day and wash them in the sink, mine are never dirty, a feather here and there, unless somebody decided to lay in the dirt, which has happened. I wash then refrigerate them - I don’t think there’s a right or wrong way, whatever make you, your family, your customers or whomever eats your eggs happy! To each their own!

First of all, my precious friends, those eggs are not ours they are our hens eggs! They give them gladly to us out of love.. Anyone spending time in a coop can understand that fact! I have my hand under her as she lays. Many times with my flock. They don't brood because they know I'm there for the eggs! I say... Love and respect your beloved hens!

I wash only if the dozen eggs in question is going to someone who requests I wash them. I don't sell them but I do supply a couple of friends with eggs if I have extra (and I usually do)
Those I eat myself get a wipe off with a damp paper towel unless they're seriously soiled. The soiled ones I do wash and refrigerate.
My eggs get refrigerated simply because of habit I guess. And because if family, in particular my hubby, sees them on the counter unchilled they tend to freak out on me. I know they won't last long enough to worry over but he can't quite overcome his childhood conditioning.
