Do your chickens use their ramp???

My chickens love their ramps!

A little off topic, but I was glad the ramp was there the other morning when we had our first real snow of the season....first ever for the chickens. It reminded me of a clown car. The pop door opened and the first chicken (a chick) stepped out, saw the snow and backpedaled, the next couple chickens in line stepped on him to get out the door; saw the snow and also turned to go back in the coop. This continued for a few minutes, as they piled up in a jumble pushing some of them a little ways down the ramp. In the end they all ended up back inside & I opened the big door to let them out where there wasn't any snow. So..the ramp was kind of a good thing I guess

Yes, they do, but the rooster doesn't. He sits down there and at night we put him in and we put him out in the morning

Nope, our pop door is set almost 1.5 feet off the ground, with the concrete foundation as a 6 inch "landing pad," I gave them a ramp so they didn't get tender toes on account of the concrete, but they much prefer just jumping off the side of the building, they even lounge and sun themselves on the concrete. Ha ha before it got cold, one of the girls was lounging on the concrete, with her legs out, all comfortable.. and then she fell off, I swear I couldn't stop laughing for about 3 hours, the look on her face was priceless, and it was made even better when all the other chickens flipped out and ran as fast as they could back into the coop.

I want to put bonnets and aprons on my hens. I suppose I should get them used to wearing them before they get much older. Anyone have a pattern for a chicken bonnet or apron??

I have banties and they all use the ramp going in and out.ON the outside at the very end of it underside the girls have dug a hole and it is a very popular nesting area.ONe tries to stay in it all nite long.I get home from work about 1am and have to get her and put her inside the coop.

Mine use theirs, and they also roost on it.

My girls use the ramp as well as my door into the run. They like going in one door and out the other.

Since my coop is ground level, the only ramp is up the roosts. Some use it to run full speed into the overcrowded top roost, displacing someone else to make room for thier own fuzzy butt! Of course there is room on the lower ones, but who wants to roost there? Sometimes the bedtime battle sounds like a chicken version of WWIII!
