You haven't been scratched by a cat lately have you? My son had a lymph node swell to the size of a golf ball in his neck, had a fever for weeks, pain in joints, ect. the doctor said it was cat scratch fever. Can last for months.

citalk2much, I can't even find words to describe the terror that instills in me (the spinal taps/caffeine treatment). I'm so sorry you have lupus. It's a horrible thing.

I actually enjoy hauling my rear end out of bed to go visit with the birds. I think I'd be really down and out if I didn't have them to fuss over.

willowcol, you might have hit on something there! The other night I was laying in bed and two of our cats came tearing into the room and used me as their launching pad. I remember shouting, "HEY!", then dozing back off to sleep. But in the morning I found a 1" cut on my arm with blood crusted all on it. I wonder if the antibiotics will work for that? At least I've got something to tell the doc when she calls me with those other test results!
