I am going to worm my chickens with fenbendazole . Does anyone eat the eggs before the suggested 14 day throw away period. I'm not getting many eggs right now but hate to throw them away.

Hello and welcome to BYC!

You will get a lot of different answers from people on this topic. Here is a link that talks about your exact question. https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/365420/can-you-eat-the-eggs-immediately-if-you-used-piperazine
I hope this helps and good luck with your flock!

Welcome to BYC!

It depends on whether you have an allergy to the medications or not. Lots of people do eat them and do well. If you do eat them and have any funky symptoms, then of course I would stop. Don't feed them back to the chickens so you are not giving them more wormer from the eggs. Some people feed the eggs to the dogs.

Good luck with your flock and welcome to ours!

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Good advice/answers above, X3, some people eat them, some people don't.

Just a follow up. We started eating the eggs 3 days after I stopped the worming med, and none of us have had any ill affects. Just incase anyone looks at this thread for future use
