It's been hot here, about 97-100 degrees. Our Americaunas seem to either have stopped laying, or are hiding their eggs from us in the garden. We have searched the property with a fine tooth comb, but nothing. Our other four buffs and Sexlinks are laying in the coop. Today we are sitting in the back yard watching the girls to see where they go. Everyone has laid but the Americaunas. Will the heat affect laying?

Heat will halt egg production, time of year will, and so will breed type, people on here say how well their americana/EE lay, mine are bums. Lay sporadically, it depends on the source of the birds, and what they are bred for, so it could be any of those or a combination of them, your other hens are breeds known for better laying, so more eggs from them, most americana/EE are kept for the color of the eggs not production. So maybe they will start up again, maybe it will be a while.
