If you took ground glass, sprayed it with pepper spray, and then mixed it waround in your eye with a rusty ice pick, then you might have a vague idea of how my eye feels, and then add in the happy joy that my charming ex brings to the table with his continual browbeating of all those around him, then you get a shining example of how some people end up on the show,"Snapped".

At least tomorrow is Friday, I found someone who will barter coffee beans for my eggs, and it looks like the ex will be going back to work on Monday,

Girl! You win the balloons, streamers and cake. I applaud your efforts even if they seem to be one step forward two steps back. Just hang in there, things will get better. Take a few minutes with the chickens, go in the house and take a long bath then do your favorite thing for two hours. (Hint... Announce that you are taking a moment and if they don't want a different kind of moment they will leave you alone)

Pats on the back for confronting a skunk and harboring an EX. I don't know how you are doing it.

Use tomato juice on you and the dogs...that will take care of skunk odor. Ex's are 'EX' for a reason so try not to get down.

D.K., I have to rank having the ex in the house as probably the number one worst mistake I have ever made in my life! I am working on finding a way to get him out, including shoving single and desperate women at him, hinting that his mother needs him, and just praying every single day that he just up and leaves, but so far...nothing. I guess I am just going to have to pack up my kids and my critters one day and head for the high hills and pray that he doesnt follow!.
My eye is swollen shut again this morning! Arrgh!!!!!

I am so sorry to hear that your eye is still so sore. The good news is he goes back to work on Monday!!! I agree you deserve a medal for letting him stay there. Maybe you need to remind him that you are doing him a favor and like we used to say when I was a kid...Shape up OR ship out!!!!

Calamity, I have a solution on how to be rid of your EX...but this is a "G" rated forum. So if you really want to know...I'll PM you.

I will say this, you are a MUCH more understanding and patient woman than I. Nobody touches my chocolate or I do my best impression of "The Exorsist". I'm sorry about the skunk and dogs issue, but having lived that situation myself...I had to laugh. Not personal, just bin there done that.

FYI...a hydrogen peroxide and baking soda bath works much better than tomato juice. Mix the two in a large jug, apply to dry dog...allow to soak for a few minutes rinse, sniff, repeat if necessary and a final of shampoo.
