Kat we used to call NNs the original red-necks. LOL That red will actually be under the feathers too and it is a very desirable breed trait.

Here is a pic of a bird that was raised with very little sun exposure and he is even red under the bow tie.

In all of the years of raising NNs I have never had an adult rooster give me any trouble, they can get a bit fiesty as juviniles but I have never even had a youngster flog me. When I pick hens up they will make a bluff charge but they have always stopped short of an actual attack.

This is George. A Madagascar Game and in this pic this was the second time that he had been handled. Sweet as sweet can be.

See the differences in the head? he has a cushion comb that is rather large and a dewlap instead of wattles. A short, stout beak and the look of a raptor like other Oriental Games have.

Henderson breed chart mentions them getting sunburned.. emailed him to let him know that was not true, but it's still up there. Oh well. He also lists egg production as medium-low, is that anybody else's experience? Mine sure lay lots of eggs..
