Looks very cozyPippin is doing so good! He is eating some now. And cleaning himself off. He is completely dry now and loves his turkey friend.![]()
Pippin is doing great!!! I’ll post a pic of him in just a little while. He is very active and curious about everything. My second duck just hatched right about 24 hrs after the external pip(a lot faster than pippin). However this duck is not acting quite the same. Much more lethargic. It’s peeping and stuff but mostly just wants to sleep. Pippin was walking right away. Also it looks like it has already pooped some black poop? This normal? I’m sure not all ducks are the same right? How is your cute Pippin doing by now?
Here is a picture of Pips. He wants to be held all the time but doesn’t cry as long as he can see you.Pippin is doing great!!! I’ll post a pic of him in just a little while. Hatching is very strenuous business and often the hatchlings need up to 24 hours to recover. And yes, they can poop really soon and some even poop when still inside the egg. Nothing to worry about.Pippin is doing great!!! I’ll post a pic of him in just a little while. He is very active and curious about everything. Congratulations on your second duckling!![]()
Thank you. However both of my ducklings have now hatched on their ownIf this is a ducking which it appears to be to me, they can take up to 40hrs to completely hatch… you shouldn’t need to help untill 48hrs and no progress unless you can see obvious signs of distress…. I’m talking from experience…
