Does your chickens try to eat your toes?

My sebastapol geese do this, they love toes/shoes/shoestrings, anything on the feet! It's very ticklish which is better than Pecking!!

It HURTS!!!! I think they think that they are big worms or something???

I would think that the taste wouldn't be good, let alone the smell and they would learn that after the first few pecks but i guess not.
LOL!

My birds peck toes too

I have learned never to wear flip flops out to the coop. Although I think my birds mainly peck toes when they're really hungry.

You might think it's funny, I guess it kinda is, until you get YOUR toes pecked. It hurts lol

I just went out today in my bare feet to go to my car and get something . In 5 seconds I had to come in and get my shoes on. They were all there waiting. I grabed some bread gave it a swing and off they went. I guess the bread was better today then my toes. And I have RIR's they hurt when they go after my toes.

My chickens bite at my husband's toes, the goat follows him around and bites at his pants, the turkeys stand in front of him looking up at him...no pecking, just staring up at him.

YES!! - I wear sandals all year except when its raining really hard - anyway when I go in the coop/run my Brahmas and Red Stars immediately start eyeing my toes (don't wear polish) so I have to watch them carefully and shoo (no pun intended) them away when they get to close.

Mine only peck at my nail polish. Or my shoes. Or my pants. Or whatever else they can peck at :p But I'm referring to my little 'teenagers'. Once they get older, I don't expect them to anymore.
I'm just waiting for my turkey eggs to hatch and have to deal with big ADULT turkeys pecking at anything shiny on me

Hahahahaha! YES!

I wear sandals to the barn when tending the chickidoo's. The baby's peck and watch the "wigglers" (toes). I feed them yogurt occasionally and once dropped some on my toes...OH My! LUNCH!!!!!

Mine peck my toes too! And it hurts!! They are 11 weeks old and so sweet, but sometimes I feel like they really are trying to eat me alive! if I am crouching down to say hello to one of them, one of the others is pulling on my shirt, another is pecking my sides (ouch!) and one is on my back pulling on my hair!! I have a freckle on my arm that they always try REALLY HARD to eat...OUCH!!! I hate that! I hope it's just a phase...

Funny story. My SIL was in the coop looking at all my chickens and the turkeys, and she had tennis shoes on. She was jumping out of their way all over the place. She finally said she was afraid they were bite her toes. We tried to tell her with shoes on they wouldn't hurt her, but she got out of the chicken yard really quick.
