I am so sorry for your loss. I know this does not help much but he feels no pain now and is in a much better place strutting his stuff and enjoying himself. I am sure he is still watching down over his flock mates. Again I am sorry for your loss.

If the dogs show up practice the 3 SSS's. I HAVE NOT TOLERANCE FOR DOGS AT LARGE. Then when the nieghbors come looking (which in many cases they don't) and ask you if you have seed the dog say simply. No I haven't seen him lately ON my property. It's not a lie he's under the property.

I'm sorry you lost Gobbles. He was quite the hero, and it's really amazing that he was able to come back at all. I do hope that you show those pictures of him to your neighbor, as they really need to understand the suffering that occurred as a result of their dog being loose. They probably understand the loss of the birds that did not live, but the suffering of one of those who did needs to be brought home to them, or they will lose that dog. It happened once, it will happen again, and not only will those who lose their birds suffer, as well as the birds, of course, but someone will not tolerate the loss, and shoot their dog. I don't think they realize that someone might do that, and they will just never see the dog again, and that they are destroying good will in their neighborhood. Some people just need it in their face.

Sorry to hear about that. I bet we all have a story something like that. It really sucks! I lost 4 of my 7 black cayugas just this week. I am really starting to hate dogs!!!!!
