I am so glad your tom is coming along. I am sorry for your other losses. Glad your DH got one of the killers.

Good luck in court...it should be an easy win but collecting from the wench may be another story. I HATE irresponsible dog owners.

I have killed two so far in the last 9 months. Warned the owners twice to keep them at home...neither listened so one I shot digging trying to get in the run and the other I shot when it decided the chickens were too much trouble to get to so he would just come after me instead. Oh...I do not think so.

Luckily, I am home all day and nothing gets near my birds (knocking on wood) so I have not lost one yet to a predator but I will dispatch a potential threat them in a heartbeat!

I am also home most of the time but had left Sat for 3 hrs to go to a chicken show and that is what I came home to.

That is so sad...I really panic when I have to be gone for very long. Just two days ago...9:30 in the morning. I am standing on the deck with my coffee watching the girls in their run and look up...what do I see. Big mama fox strolling up the driveway! She looked at me, then the girls, then me and turned and started walking towards my girls.

I said "Oh hell no you don't" and flew off the deck chasing her away. I had to go shopping so I put everyone inside (they were ticked off) before I went shopping.

Denozo is back to grazing and gobbling and he even tried to strut.
It was a pitful strut but it was a strut - -

BTW -- THE LETTER went out today.

I know exactly how you feel just lost my beautiful mallard to a wolf hybrid Sunday before last. We were free ranging them and were right my the door, saw the dog were to late to save the duck, he caught it to fast and was gone down the street looked for hours. My husband has a loaded 22 waiting to welcome the dog if he ever has the nerve to come back. People need to keep there dogs home. Especially a predetor like that dog, now the dog is going to lose it's life because of a idiot owner. Never been a fan of wolf mixes anyhow. Sorry for your loss.
