Dog attacked my Lucy!

I was afraid of that since it is just a natural process. I'm so worried she'll bust her stitches when she does lay. But then again, God made us females to withstand a lot. I have been giving her the feed though. Up until last night she wouldn't even touch anythingvothervthan her mash. She still doesn't like the water with the medicine in it. Would it be better to just give her fresh water and start penicillin shots if she shows signs of infection.
Tough call, but if she is not drinking water the i would give her fresh water and if infection starts give her medication then. Yes,most of us that have had children know what it feels like to have stitches in/around our "vent". Lol

Thanks Ten Chicks! I think what I will do tomorrow is measure her water before I dump it that way I know exactly how much she drank. I give her 8 oz everyday at 7 pm. About how much should one hen drink a day?

Mine drink a fair bit of water, not sure exactly how much as they have access to water all day. I give fresh water twice a day. One cup is plenty for one bird,is there much water left at the end of day?

There is quite a bit of water left over. I know she is drinking somen because I've seen her a few times, but it seems like she isn't drinkning much. She is eating good though.

See if she drinks more with the fresh water as opposed to medicated water, then you will know.

Well, we're a little over a week out and Lucy is doing great! She's even got to go outside the past couple of days since it's been warm and pretty, she loves to follow me to all my flower beds and steal my worms lol.
