Dog Got Chicken. NEED HELP ASAP!!!

Do you hear any air gushing from any of the wounds? Air sacs which are located in wing bones and other parts of the body, can easily be punctured by fangs. You may need another pair of hands, to get him and examine him closely. If he acts in shock, he may be better offer left alone in a quiet warm spot like a dog crate at first. The crop in the upper right chest, where the food and water is stored before moving through to the gizzard, has two layers. It can be torn open, and he would not be able to get much food since it could leak out. Crops can be closed first closing the crop layer, then the skin layer with stitches or with Superglue.

Here are illustrations of the air sacs:

Think of a 3 inch by 3inch hole totally open in that area.

i don't hear air. Yes, she is alone now in a dog crate. I'm thinking it will need to be put out because the gap is probably so large it can't be fixed.

Can you locate where she was wounded? Lacerations, skinned area, puncture wounds especially can be found under feathers under wings, around the neck and elsewhere. Has she laid eggs recently? Some injured hens will continue to lay while the one I had, stopped for several months.

Basically for daily wound care, I would use a wound spray, then let it dry, and apply an antibiotic ointment twice a day. Plain old normal saline can be used to clean wounds twice a day in place of other things. To make saline, take a quart of water, heat it to boiling, and add 2 tsp of table salt, and keep in a clean container, like a glass canning jar or bottle sprayer.

Even for internal organs? I would be washing the inside of the hen. Don't know if she has been laying, I'm pretty sure she is one of my 2+ year old hen. So no eggs would really happen anyways. She was wounded in the front part of the chest, This picture can show you the area.
