I figured it was probably more of a time/resources thing. But either way, very unfortunate. It amazes me that law enforcement is so reluctant to hold the neighbor responsible
He is a kid. At this point I would rather try to find a way to cool things down. But, only after he sees the evidence that includes pictures of his yard with my chicken parts.@centrarchid I never asked on other thread... do you know if neighbor owns the property or is renting it? If renting you should send copies of any legal letters to the actual property owners. Another avenue if countersuit is required... try to involve the neighbor's property insurance company. Many property insurance companies have developed a real dislike for problem dog owners.
I know it is another expense, but I still believe a video camera system based around the barnyard or area of most likely conflict, would be to your benefit in further disputed infractions.
It is unfortunate that you had to dispatch the husky, but honestly didn't surprise me after you described the pack a couple of weeks ago. I am just very relieved you and your kids haven't been targets of the dogs, even if only by accidentally getting in their way.

I don't recommend anyone run from trouble. It will follow you.getting one to write a few letters is relatively cheap vs dealing with a bad neighbor for months.
there was another thread on here where someone couldn’t get their neighbor issues handled and the thread was going on 6 months. they eventually bought a new house and moved. now, that’s expensive.
Legally, no one is bound to confine dogs in rural Callaway County, Missouri. If dogs demonstrated a danger to people then that may be a different story.I figured it was probably more of a time/resources thing. But either way, very unfortunate.![]()
