I've read through the entire thread, and have to commend you on how your handling it. You would think after the first dog they had to retrieve, they would do whatever it takes to keep their dogs safe. Obviously they didn't. I don't think I could have been so understanding with the continued attacks.
So far, with fencing upgrade, I have able to keep my animals from physical harm. That does not mean I do not come across as a butt munch to the neighbors. They know I get hot.

You are much more civil than I. If ammo was recommended by law enforcement, my neighbor would have no dogs left by now. Good luck.
I am starting to think the deputies never raised the issue about my option to shoot animals as a recommendation. My assertion they have may have really caught the neighbor's attention.

There may be more discord yet, although it appears to be limited to other side of fence.

One party seems to have issue with stated deposition of the dogs. The female party appears to have contention with what male told me via facebook. She has been the most problematic by actions the whole time.

I can hear heated discussion from almost 100 yards away. I get only bits and pieces but word dogs is easy to make out. If I were to be on barn then a lot more would be intelligible. I can’t tell what she wants, just that there is lack of agreement. She is a bit of a hothead and does not get good references from her close neighbors I spoke with. I spoke to them before I even seen or heard her for first time.

My dogs have driven theirs back across line and sometimes crossed fence while doing it. Based on law as I'm really coming to know it, my position is not weakened by my dogs going over property line so long as they do no damage which is same situation my neighbor has with dogs simply coming over. I am still learning. next effort will likely be to approach county commission to appeal for a county rule change. Where I'm weakened is my ability to protect my dogs from having revenge taken out on them by neighbors.

My inability to get law enforcement to deal with dogs chasing my stock while on my property is particularly aggravating. We must all remember my area is under state of Missouri and Callaway County rules, not those of somewhere else.
The county adjacent to ours no longer allows our residents to surrender their unwanted cats or dogs at their facility anymore. They also quit sponsoring vouchers to have our cats or dogs spayed or neutered there by vets in their county. Because our county doesn't have a shelter, a vet or a spay clinic it leaves many of the poorest residents here with no way to deal with dogs running at large, strays or animals that need rescued. Many of the people here need help with spaying or neutering.(Its one of the poorest counties in the nation) I met with the city a couple months ago to address my concerns and asked them to donate land so I can build a shelter myself but I haven't heard anything from them yet.I was hoping the city would be more helpful so I wouldn't have to go to the county and ask for help but they weren't. My next trip will be to our County Commissioners like you!
