We have some small plastic bowls, so what we do is we give her the bowl filled with a even amount of chicken and rice, with some pumpkin mixed in otherwise she would only eat the chicken.Pumpkin is often recommended for dogs with diarrhea to help firm up the stool. It’s generally given in small doses. Because the dog is a small one, they don’t need much - probably like a teaspoon or so. The chicken and rice should be the main food the dog is getting.
If the diarrhea is excessive or super watery, you should take the pup to the vet especially if it’s been more than 24 hours. With such a small dog, they can get dehydrated quickly.
Seems to me like if it works for both as claimed... that it would be very different amounts of doses. For example, and I'm just reasoning this out with what little nutritional knowledge I do have... For diarrhea seems like a small amount might work by absorbing the liquid in the intestines or colon maybe. Verses a larger amount would add enough fiber to actually cause the diarrhea, as people do use it to get things moving. But it could be the opposite of what I'm thinking. I'm here to learn also. But without enough solid information and exact dosing suggestions, would not be MY cup of tea.Just a note on the pumpkin if u do want to feed your pups pumpkin.
