Dog thread!🐾

Not a breed, but I will also add any dog that isn't leashed when outside in pupublic
Control Unleashed was his prerequisite for attending Agility 1 and Agility 2, which led to him being the East County Humane Society Agility Champion two quarters in a row! 🏆🏆

I'm glad you don't hate him because he's beautiful! 😊

Most small breeds. Nothing against the breeds, I'm just not a huge fan of most of their looks.

Just curious what’s wrong with them not being leashed if they’re well controlled and it’s allowed in the area? I agree if they’re not under control and/or it’s not allowed in the area (both of which seem to go hand in hand lol) but a lot of people work really hard to be able to allow their dog the freedom to be off leash. Personally, I would never do it in a crowded area, which may be what you mean? Even if well trained but Brew and I go hiking all the time and I would hate for him to have to be constrained to the leash the entire time especially when off leash is allowed here. He gets tons of exercise that way and loves playing with the other dogs. We do respect leash laws though if it’s required but usually it’s not. Also for most if not all dog sports they have to be off leash to participate. And a lot of service dogs, a leash would get in the way, depending on the disability of course.

Because I absolutely despise when a strange dog comes up to me and is not controlled. I don't care how well trained the dog is, I do not want an unrestrained dog in me or my dog's space because my dog does not do well with other dogs being so close to her.

I'm sure most dog's are typically fine and trained properly, but I do not want to risk my safety or my dog's because someone else was walking their dog and it was off a leash.

Typically it's on campus property, which doesn't have signs to leash your dog, but it's a decently crowded place during passing periods.

I stay far away from dog sports, so I have no clue about those ideals and rules. I just know where I've gone has resulted in me suddenly having unrestrained dogs run over to me and I am not a fan of strange dogs

Ah okay that makes sense then. I can see how that would be annoying then. I would get annoyed too if Brew didn’t like other dogs. Thankfully he does. But I have gotten nervous with client dogs when I still did that.

I have a question, can you de-worm dogs and puppies yourself? And do puppies have to be 12 weeks in order to de-worm? Thanks!
If you buy a dog de-wormer you can do it yourself, I only do my own dogs, and if you get specific puppy wormer you can worm puppies before 12 weeks.

I TOTALLY disagree, have you owned a pitbull? They are some of the sweetest dogs you can get, I think you’ve been misinformed unless you’ve owned a pit or pit mix, I guess you’ll never know
Have to jump in here. A couple of dogs of this breed - whether pure or mix, I don't know - attacked my then 18 yo grand daughter who was just walking past their house and nearly tore her leg off. While the owners stood by and watched. So don't tell me how sweet and adorable they are.

I'm so sorry your family had to go through that. I sincerely hope everyone is well now :hugs
