Dog thread!🐾

Oh wow that’s horrible! I wonder if it being a rescue made the difference. Like if a well bred one would be better
Like I said, it didn't seem like it had many strong reactions to anything. Wasn't afraid of people or other dogs. Just acted inert most of the time, like a cat that can't remember where it lives. The biting without a warning

The whole 'not offleash' is a deal-breaker for me. I'm too used to dogs who respond to voice and hand signals.

Are they good looking dogs? Sure

Ah okay that makes sense then. And yeah, I do like a dog who can be off leash but I still think I’d consider one. Although I want a sporting or herding breed next.

They aren't very good pics but here they are!

I really want a Border Collie eventually. Anyone have one and/or have pics of theirs? šŸ¤” I know someone just shared their mixed one, which is totally amazing and acceptable too, but I need MORE LOL
My sister has a Border collie. I think hes pure. He such a sweety but hes old.

Does Sammy bark much? I’ve heard Shelties are quite vocal.
Yes, he's a mess. He didn't start out to be but our Gracie was a barker so he picked it up from her and they both just stimulated each other. Since she died, he's gotten a lot better, and especially since this Golden we got is practically silent, he's really settled down. I always go SHH! at him and if he doesn't stop I shake an empty plastic bottle at him with a handful of beans in it, and if THAT doen't calm him down, I throw it at him. It startles him and distracts him from what he's barking at and he really doesn't like it, so often just the SHHH! works bc he knows what's coming.

They seem to consider themselves the Town Crier and Local Announcer of All Things Interesting or Unusual. It can be helpful, as in when he lets me know the oven beeped and I didn't hear it. He's practically a Hearing Aid Dog except that he barks at things that don't matter, like walnuts falling on the carport roof, lol.

He's also a tattle-tale. He HATES it when any of the other animals go into our GSon's bedroom where I feed him, and he'll come running out YELLING if they do and insist that I go put a stop to it immediately. He cracks me up sometimes.
