I completely forgot lancashire were that small.Thank goodness for the Lancashire Heeler
Nah they’re still small cause as I mentioned yesterday, weight is not my only determining factor. But neither is height. So they can be short and still be medium. Or tall and be medium.Putting aside the fact that I don't get imperial, and as such, pounds, it seems to me that weight cannot be the only way to decide whether a dog is xsmall, small, medium, large, xlarge. Like Spot pointed out, sighthounds weight a lot less than their equally sized mastiff breeds. Frenchies, and other heavy boned dogs weigh a lot more than dogs their size. There are Frenchies that are way over 20 pounds. Are those medium sized, then?
Yesssss. Although I think Brew might be 19 inches tall. I’d have to remeasure. He’s medium size but large weight lol he’s also kind of fatIm use to going by breed standard weight for the size.
But i guess height has to go into affect at some point.
Id say if 13 in or under it would be considered small.
13 to 18 inches is medium
And 18 plus is large.
Cause Denver is 80lbs and 21 1/2 - 22 inches tall
And Tucker is 55lbs and 22 inches tall.
Do they categorize them? I haven’t seen that. Just by breed group.I think my point is that size categorization is very nuanced. In addition, no one seems to have overlapping definitions for what is small, large, medium, etc. Instead of arguing about it, as Stinky said, and we should let the AKC, KC, and FCI who have put many more hours of study than us, into categorising them
