Dog thread!🐾

I love Dog Chow! I feed the beef formula but will try chicken next. And I’ve fed it in the past. I also tried Purina One for several months and loved that as well but it was too expensive for me lol
My aunt has Denver brother and went through the same issue, he was on purina one and it didnt help, she has him on diamond now and hes doing well.

I see. I'm sorry I can't give any more recommendations. I've only tried two other brands, both of which were not appreciated by him
Its fine, im just so tired of trying foods that dont work. And our vet also recommends a food without corn, so its even harder. I saw that most purina foods have corn so thats a no.
But so many foods aren't good for the dogs. Im looking in to RC.

Corn is not bad. All ingredients have a purpose. I can find an article

Its not bad, but our vet thinks that may be why she isnt eating and she is having bad allergies
Ohhhhhh I see. Honestly food allergies in dogs are pretty rare from what I’ve read. Much more likely to be environmental. But if it IS corn, the only way to truly determine a food allergy is through an elimination diet with a hydrolized protein diet (prescription) and most OTC foods will risk cross contamination so you have to do that. The normal allergy tests are extremely unreliable.

Food allergies are pretty rare in dogs. Our vet just said to find a food without corn that she will eat and if there is a difference we will know. Our vet doesnt like using prescription diets unless absolutely needed. They try to find ways of finding out before. The tests are super unreliable
