-Dogs are Gods way of saying your not alone-
For the squirrels. Distraction works best. Tucker still goes at a few but if he doesnt see them he doesnt lunge.Brew and I need to start doggy boot camp for a while LOL
He needs work on his manners like not lunging (and crying) at people and dogs even if itās just to say hi.
Not lunging at SQUIRRELS.
And probably most importantly, not lunging at CARS!
That last one is a fairly recent thing where when he sees a car, he will try to walk out into the road and/or lunge at it. And itās not every car Iām pretty sure so idk why itās some cars and not others. Todayās car was white which so is one of our cars so idk if he thought it was Grampās car? But it was a totally different size, shape, make, everything and plus their sense of smell is amazing so that shouldnāt have been it. I just donāt know. But I have to stop it. I reeled him in tight and told him NO! in a stern voice but not yelling obviously and thankfully he sat down on his own. So thatās good. But yeah.
For the cars do some training on a buzy road. Make sure he knows a sit stay. Praise him when he doesnt lunge. Dont praise and say no when he does.
