Hello!I lost this thread againHi everyone

Wow! That looks so weird! They're not concerned about it at all?Crazy last two days. Iām taking care of my sisterās dog while sheās out of town and not 24 hours after she leaves, Evie (her Standard poodle) comes down with bloat. The thing with Standards though is that they hide it SO well and her only visible symptoms were a tucked tail and some restless pacing. She didnāt even look physically bloated. I felt silly worrying at all because of how minimal her symptoms were, but I called my mom anyway (who is a born fear mongerer) and she insisted we rush to the EV. Sure enough Evieās stomach was already completely twisted and they took her into surgery immediately. Still not sure what caused it, she hadnāt even been active yet that day, but Iām certainly glad we got her in so quickly. The only damage she had was some minor bruising on the stomach. I saw her today and the bruising on her incision though is a different story. Never seen anything like it- looks like sheās been in a train reck. And the way the swelling was so distended made it seem as if her abdomen were full of blood. Her vitals were fine though and sheās eating well and walking around so she should be good to come home tomorrow. Iām just shocked really by how it looks- I know they usually donāt look nearly this bad.

With her vitals being so fine and bloodwork normal they really donāt have a reason to be. They are watching her an extra night to be cautious though- she was meant to come home today but the vet changed his mind last minute after some discussion over it.Wow! That looks so weird! Iām hoping so. She really doesnāt handle pain very well and Iād hate for anything to go wrong and put her into more. That is frightening, both the bloat and how it looks afterwards. Hopefully she heals up quickly without complications.
Oh but whatās really frightening is the vet bill after all this.. so very glad it isn't mine to pay, although I do send my condolences to the wallet it does come out of.That is frightening, both the bloat and how it looks afterwards. Hopefully she heals up quickly without complications.
