He has discovered he likes really chewing on big ice blocks. It’s the most possessive I’ve seen him since he was a puppy. He got very mad at the cat when he walked by his ice. It is always something I’ve got on to him about, but recently I’ve been second guessing that. He never has had any resource guarding with me at all, and he definitely thinks he can get away with it with the cats. Do you think I should just let him as long as he doesn’t try to bite them?

I personally wouldn’t tolerate any guarding or aggression towards anyone, human or other animals. But that’s just me.

I let my dogs keep whatever they have as long as there's no real aggression. I can take anything away without problems. It's their choice to give something away to another dog. To a cat, never.

Just kidding. No aggression towards cats is allowed.

That makes sense!!!!! I can take stuff away too lol

Yeah, I was always very strict with it, but I feel like it is a loosing battle and honestly, I am kind of feeling like it isn’t fair. He is just telling the cat to keep away from his stuff. Part of me feels like that is a valid thing for him. But I don’t know, just wondered what y’all thought.

Willows been pretty good with me but she definitely resource guards to Oakley and the cats, I try not to tolerate it because it could cause a fight. Obviously she doesn't have to just let Oakley take her stuff though
