What breed/mix is Thor? Sorry if you've mentioned this before.

I'm not actually sure. I'm thinking black mouth cur, but it's technically not a breed since it isn't recognized by the akc. I want to buy him a DNA test and if I do I'll share the results on here

You should! Get Embark or Wisdom. They’re the most accurate. The others really aren’t and have been proven to have false results etc. But even Wisdom I don’t really trust anymore and it said Brew was like a million different breeds and then later “updated” and added a bunch more. It’s ridiculous. Some of them I know he is NOT. LOL So yeah. Personally I would say to do Embark. It’s more expensive but it’s not THAT much more now since they added an option to do just breeds without the health testing. So yeah. The Embark I found to be extremely accurate LOL

Also just cause it’s not recognized by the AKC doesn’t mean it’s not a breed. There’s plenty of breeds in development or older breeds/landraces etc. that aren’t recognized yet. But in this case, they are recognized by the UKC which is just as legitimate an organization as the AKC. So they ARE a real breed. Some like the continental kennel club or the American dog registry are blatantly for puppy mills but the AKC, UKC, FCI, Canadian Kennel Club, etc. etc. are all legitimate.

I got Embark purebred. I should have got the age and all that, but my boy passed on. I am thankful to have an Embark profile for him where I can add photos and videos, and see as his new relatives join.
