I believe embark tests for it? I could be totally wrong. I know of people who have found the COI of their mixes. Not a topic I know a lot about, but a topic I love hearing about

I'm interested in maybe testing Sasha for that too if it isn't too expensive. I'm thinking it's probably not very low. When the rescues come in to the reservations, they tend to take almost all the puppies they can that aren't actually in homes, so most of the dogs there probably start getting kinda relatedI believe embark tests for it? Average for cavaliers here is 5.6%, wonder how different it is in different countriesIt's really fun to look at COI's. Some random mix breeds pulled off the street come up with WAY too high COI's. I actually have no idea what the usual COI for Cavs is. I imagine not too low. From what I understand borzoi have kept theirs pretty low
You canāt look up dogs on the AKC website? Or am I just not finding it
I really like the KC, I do not like the AKC
The coi average. What are you looking for? I find the AKC very user-friendly
The coi average.
The KC lets you look up all the dogs registered with them, it will also tell you coi average of the breed, coi of the dog, how much of the pedigree is complete, pedigree with the links to all the dogs if registered, all health tests done through places they accept and what registered litters they have had. The AKC doesnāt seem to have that! The OFA website is confusing
I donāt just dislike the AKC for their website
The kc has a breed watch category thing, they explain it better then I can on their websiteYeah, the AKC doesn't have that. Oop! I smell drama! Do tell, do tell![]()
Is KC the breed club then? Or something else? My mom is dead set on either a pug or a westie Terrier, so we're trying to find good starting points with a breeders that aren't breeding for those bulging eyes and smashed faces in pugsThe kc has a breed watch category thing, they explain it better then I can on their website

like I said before itās easy to find a lot if information on the dogs (you canāt see who owns the dog)
in their big shows they set up free vet checks for things like eyes, heart, etc (I donāt know if the AKC does this)
pugs most be checked by a vet for breathing issues before they can get a championship (also donāt know if the akc does this)
The KC has a assured breeder scheme, I not sure how good it actually is but they are trying to make it easier for people to find ethical breeders
in the akc to show some dogs they have to be cropped and docked
I have not seen the AKC working towards dog welfare and health anywhere near as much as the KC
The kennel club (KC) is confusingly the UKs version of the American kennel clubIs KC the breed club then? Or something else?
