That's a wonderful age for a boxer to live to. I go back and forth about getting another one day. The health problems scare me, but they are such goofy dogs with big hearts. It gives me hope that not all die young. My brother's made it to 14, my friend's was 11. Boxers were the first breed I fell in love with, and I've had one ever since.I'm sorry. It is always so sad when they get old and sick. My Boxer lived to 14 years and one month. He was pretty active until the end. He was still going even with congestive heart failure, frequent seizures, and many tumors that the vet refused to remove because of placement and how sensitive Boxers are to anesthesia. He eventually lost use of his back legs and we said goodbye.

My first boxer died at 10 from cardiomyopathy. My second I put down at 9 because of cushings. When Rosie made it past 10 I knew everything after was a bonus. I am impressed by her lack of gray too. I was told her grandma lived to be 13, so I'm hoping she will be around a while longer. She is on daily pain meds as she has lots of arthritis, and also is anaplasmosis positive which we manage.
My dogs do all get along. I'm good at speaking, and reading dog language.
The other Aussie has been a diabetic for 2 years. She's recently gone blind. Her coat won't grow back in either. She's still happy, but it makes me sad. She's only 10. She is show bred and has had lots of health problems. The first show bred Aussie I had was the same. Show bred have the best personality, but physically can be a mess.
I'd rather have a good temperament. Show Aussies also have a weird sense of humor. I have a lot of great memories.I've been raised around big, "working" mixes. They're the complete opposite. Sh!t temperament (outside of their work), but health problems arise later on

Thatās so sad!! Iām sorryIt is so hard to let goI had to let 3 dogs go , worst was my Doberman pinscher, she died during our vacation, I drove through the night searching for a vet, when I finally found one, she was already in a coma with a twisted stomach, I still feel so bad whenever I think about her dying a agony

They sure are goofy. Very stubborn but entertaining. And they refuse to let their old age slow them down. Our neighbors had a boxer for years. Actually they had two. I want one bad lol
