Dog thread!🐾

Haven't tried a prong yet, but he does have a martingale that helps a bit as opposed to a flat collar. I think I'll reserve the prong for adulthood, if it's really needed.
Yeah it just depends on your mindset though. I don’t view prongs necessarily as a last resort. Just a tool like a martingale. But I get it
I've not done kibble work for him recently because... Long story... In the first trimester, the last food I had before my morning sickness kicked in was potato olays (GAG) from Taco John's, but the dog's food smelled like Olay seasoning to my pregnancy nose, so now even though my sense of smell is back to normal and I'm not nauseous, I can't stand his kibble, not even touching it. 😭🤣🤣
Oh goodness😭 I kind of know how you feel (minus the pregnancy part😆)

It's not really a "last resort", I agree. But it IS more sharp of a reminder than the martingale. With my horse training background, I know that it's important to teach the animal to respond to the gentlest of commands. While using something "harsher" or just more abrupt in general can be helpful, the animal will no longer respond as well to those lighter commands. Obviously horses and dogs aren't the same, lol, but there is crossover.
