Dog with Diahrrea, some puking. (Back from Vet)

Poultry allergies are so common that I prefer to just avoid chicken based dog food. We've fed some with a little chicken in it but it's so easy to get formulas with minimal or no chicken, so long as you aren't feeding the bottom quality stuff, that it's no trouble to avoid it.

I'm so glad to hear about your dog. Pancreatitis is extremely painful and fairly costly to treat, in my experience. I'm glad the vet you picked was able to diagnose and treat the problem.

Well, phew!

Aren't we a bunch of alarmists?

I always worry the one time I don't think the worst on a dog ailment it will turn around and bite me on the butt. Happened before.

She's still got diahrrea going on. Brown in color, chunkier than before, so maybe we're making progress?

I feel bad for her because the Immodium is making her constipated...just can't win in this! She's scarfing down her hamburger and rice though!

Can you give her a smaller dose of Immodium?

I had a fat CattleDog that would get pancreatitis everytime I gave her some steak. Sounds scary but check their poo. A lot of times you will streaks of blood in it.

I'm dealing with a new puppy with diahrrea right now. He had coccidia when he was about 4months old. Just checked out at the vet this morning no signs of any coccidia or worms but he continues with the diahrrea. I'm a big NO GRAINs person when it comes to my pets (lots of research) and feed Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream. BUT I'm breaking down and gonna give him some oatmeal with pumpkin mixed in to see if it slows things down. I and the rescue have been using pumpkin and it's not seemed to slow it down. Vet didn't seem to concerned say that his system is still trying to over come the effects of the coccidia.

Ya'll got any other ideas?
