Doggie pics, please

Okay! Here's mine:

Murphy- Black Male Pug- An interesting fact about him: He inhales any type of food stuck in his face, he even swallowed half a bone, which resulted in a blockage of the intestines... and it had to be surgically removed!
murph.jpg

Cricket- Fawn Female Pug- Was like a mom to murphy when he was a pup- she doesn't listen for squat!

Ahh... Jamey- Sir James
wink.png
- Bedlington Terrier- Some interesting information about him is that he was a show dog, got him from a breeder who lived in Africa! And Jamey had actually lived in Africa for awhile. He was a breeder... it'd be interesting to see some of his babies!

Isaic- pronounced I-Zick- Teacup Poodle- The devil in dog form. Is as blind as a bat... and has a bad attitude!
isaic.jpg

Noah- Golden Retriever X Yellow Lab- One of our friendliest dogs, very lovable
noah.jpg

Zack- Toy poodle- Our first of all the dogs

Taya- German Sheperd X Siberian Husky- The absolute sweetest! We rescued her from her previous owners... had the poor girl lock in a cage in a room for 3 straight summer days without food or water! She had been at the SPCA twice... can't quite understand why because she is the sweetest most laid back of all our dogs!

Here's our one and only crazy Daisy! and oh, we love her so!

she's listening intently to something my ds#1 is saying...

and here she's being sweet with HER ds#1 (I'm not sure where she puts me in the whole scenario, but the small people who live in the house are HERS!)

Here's Blitz. He is a German shepherd from Belgium. He is working lines. In the photo he was 4, but he is 5 now. We did do Schutzhund, but I had to get a real job so we haven't titled beyond the BH (which is basic OB degree with a temperament test).

And Vanna she is about the same age and came from a rescue situation where I took a bunch of dogs from a friend who had become overwhelmed. She was too small to be a show dog since she is a dainty 35 pound standard poodle, but she is a great dog.

I had been breeding shepherds, but recently stopped for lack of time. I have puppies all over the country working in search and rescue, Schutzhund, and personal protection. I need to update my site, but for anyone who wants to look it is www.blackiceshepherds.com

One of my pups was in an article (along with other SAR dogs) in Front and Finish magazine this month (April 08)!!!

Cash is adorable! Here's our collection of fine K-9s...so far. We have a Black Mouth Cur puppy on the way.

This is Kodiak, my SAR dog (and momma's favourite but don't tell anyone else that
wink.png
). She was a pound puppy, and is half Black Lab half good neighbourhood dog. I think the other half must be Golden Retriever or Setter. My college roommates got her for me after my first dog died, and she was the best choice i've ever made. She's wild but wouldn't (intentionally!) harm a fly. She just still hasn't outgrown the hyper puppy stage yet, and loves everything and everyone a bit too much. She is 2.5 years old.

This is Miss Moneypenny, Penny to her friends and family! She's my new SAR dog in training after I lost my first Bloodhound in September. She has an excellent nose and never misses a trail, but outside of trailing she may as well be deaf. She has a great friendly personality, and is entertaining just to have around. She is eight months old now ....and 80lbs. Penny loves cats, she is obsessed with them.

This is Ruger. He's a German Shorthaired Pointer that I bailed out of the pound the day before he was to be euthanized. I had the intention of rehoming him, but he and Kodiak and Penny are too good friends and after he took so long to bond with me, I just couldn't reject him. He was in the pound from 4 months - 8 months old, but is actually a pretty good bird dog with no training. I had planned to train him for SAR, but he likes hunting birds so much it wouldn't be fair to make him leave them alone. He's a terror for running off hunting, but at the same time it makes me so happy to see him running free and enjoying himself after spending so long in a 6 x 4 kennel. It's safe for him to do it out here, he'd have to run 12 miles before he got to a road. The pound was in a small town and pitiful. The kennels were basically in a converted garage with no windows, and his legs were covered with sores from the concrete. For $15 to save him, I just couldn't say no. I've had him just over a year now, and he is almost two. He is so gentle and adores children.

This is Woodrow, my husband's Black Mouth Cur/Tennessee Mountain Cur mix. He is a great cow dog, and pouts all day if my husband leaves him home. He usually blames me for it. He is quite the terror too, if I tell him to do something he goes to my husband to check he has to first. Woodrow will be 3 in October. He loves to sing the FSU fight song, although neither of us have figured out why. He's approx. 75lbs.

Here are our friends who are sadly no longer with us.

This is Scarlett, my first dog. She was a Black and Tan Coonhound I got from the pound. She was very sweet and noisy! She got hit by a car and had to be put to sleep after I left her with someone I shouldn't have trusted to take care of her. I only had her for a month, but she was a riot. She shredded the receipt I got before we even left the pound.

This is Ladybird. She was my first Bloodhound and a great friend to both me and Kodiak when it was just the three of us. She passed in September, and hooked me on Bloodhounds for life. She was so funny and full of personality, and thought everyone was put on earth to admire and pet her. She came from the pound too, and I think she was around 7 when we lost her. She was the victim of a puppy mill before I got her. When I got home she would come up to me and take a great big sniff and sigh, like she was saying 'it's so good to smell you.'
