This morning's geese update:
They are still all there. I brought them some chicken feed, some cooked brown rice and a couple of slices of whole grain bread. I'm certain that it is not near enough. They are big birds. But I hope that what I give them will hold them over until Friday. The gander made a bit of a showing, but not near as threatening as yesterday.

You also have to take into consideration what his life could have been like before dumped off too. Glad to hear he was better.

They should be okay! You did great, and thank you so much for doing so!
Once they get here they'll be spoiled rotten, and have as much food as they want & need. It'll take time for them, Ganders included, to get used to people being seen as a "good" thing. But I'll brain wash them, just you wait! I've done it with all the other animals to. Eventually they learn to love being cuddled!

She's the one who found them and got permission/did all the leg work for them to be rescued. I'm the one who is taking them/bringing them to my farm.

I live in Forest Grove and discovered the geese living at the Wetlands, presumably dumped there. I did the research and made contacts to the appropriate parties to get the okay to have them rescued. Hockmangirl saw my posts here and on the Oregon thread and volunteered to give them refuge. She lives about an hour and a half away from me. We are meeting up Friday to do the rescue and then Hockmangirl will take them home. In the meantime, I've been checking in on them and giving them a bit of food. My part in this will be done after the rescue on Friday.

Oh okay so are you going to be able to get crates from the local animal shelter? they would probably let you borrow them, I borrowed a very large critter catch crate from ours once to catch a dog that was so starved we had to get him some help. I just had to pay a small deposit.

Thanks for the update, I'm just happy you have done so much to get them rescued and now they will have a wonderful home. Good job Ladies!!

Most likely buying a Giant size crate. The only shelter that I've found that has some available (for rent), is an hour in the opposite direction from Forest Grove, and I just don't have the time to go and pick up. One of the hassles of being rural, nothing near by.
