Dominique Thread!

Or a mutt. You can put a barred rooster over lots of different breeds of hen and wind up with barred chicks. It's a sex-linked dominant gene, it's super-easy to build a barred chicken.

OK, I need help.

I have joined the Dominique Club, and looked through the breeders list...

Most don't ship, eggs or chicks, and most do not have websites, so I can't look at their birds.

Soooo........

Can anyone recommend a breeder that will ship me eggs or chicks next spring? (And remember, I do live in Alaska....but I have ordered chicks from big hatcheries in the past)

I want some Dominique's that LOOK like Dominiques and also lay well, and have human non-aggressive roosters.

I really want the eggs or chicks next spring.....

Any suggestions?

What about ordering a trio of started youngsters or even adult birds? Yes, it's expensive, but you know *exactly* what you're getting when you open the box. (as opposed to waiting four to six months for chicks to mature)

that is a good idea....but I just think it would be harder for started or adult chickens to make it up here. Also, I really wanted more than three.

But, it is a good option to consider. Thanks.
