Dominique Thread!

Your's are pullets. Look at osprey's pics, and you notice some lighter in color and some darker. The lighter ones are roos and the darker ones are hens. By the time they are feathered the roos wil be noticeable lighter .

wssmith,

OK, your rooster looks lovely. Would you ship eggs? (not right now, but later this spring)

And in the many pages of this thread that I looked through, several people did mention that Cackle had the nicest stock of the hatcheries, several people mentioned that Privett had a high percentage of Barred Rock blood, but I never saw someone actually mention McMurray.

And, I am a member of the Dominique Breed Association.

Awesome. Yes, I will ship eggs. First, I am waiting to see what this first test batch shows as far as fertility. It's still pretty early in the season. PM me or send me a message via my FB page, Windy Ridge Dominiques. Let me know how many you want and about when you want them and you will be put on the list. Everything is first come first serve.

Here is a picture of my Dominique rooster. I have just a few per bread Dominique's. I have a few bard rocks hens. I have slowly replaced them with Dominique's. What do you think of my rooster?

It is hard to tell with that picture.

It looks like his color is good.....

For lots of critique it is best if there is one close up head shot of the comb and wattles, and then one picture directly from the side, so that stance, colors, body proportion etc. can be seen well. Some odd pages back there was maybe a week where people posted some wonderful pictures that we all got to critique and learn from.

Did he come from Privett by any chance? Reason I ask is because of his comb...other than that, its hard to tell anything by the angle of the photo.
