Finally a Dominique thread!

I have a huge old Dominique hen. She weighs a TON, and lays the BIGGEST EGGS EVER!

By the way, does anyone know of a flock of Dominique with red barring to replace either the white or black? I heard of one somewhere near Ohio, but forget where I heard it from. Just curious, thanks

UPDATE on my Dom eggs in the incubator!! Originally at 5 days I had 5 definite growths, 2 w/ growths but smaller then the others (1 is our cracked baby), 2 maybe clears but not sure, & 9 definitely clear... Tonight at the end of day 12 my original 5 definite growths are still doing great, 1 of the smaller growths is now a definite while my cracked baby seems to be a quitter, & the other 11 appear to all be clears still... Here are some pics & a video from tonight!!

I guess the early bug gets the chick.
I guess the bug has bitten already. With the weather as nice as its been, and all the fertile eggs that
we don't want to loose to winter, we have decided to fire up the incubator.


We will have weekly hatches starting Nov. 26 th. ( Saturday ) .

The breeds we are hatching now are :

Russian Orlofs
"Red" Dominiques , yes , These are Red Dominiques that are very rare .

All chicks straight run @ $10.00 ea.

i have five dominique hens. they are just like there name though. they rule the farm from some other RIR's and Buffs i have...lol
