Very nice! I had read that report in #1573, but was curious of the breakdown of the genetics and how it was "looking". Always cool to hear about real progress!

We bought our first chicks, all Dominques, last week at 5 weeks old.
So far, I'm up to page 126 of this thread and haven't seen anything about how much they peep.
We have 9 chicks and from morning to night someone is always peeping, if not everyone.
Is this a chick thing, a Domique thing and will they always be this noisy?
Thanks!
Eggs for first month or so of laying tend to be smaller for young birds. If start of egg laying delayed, first eggs tend to be closer to normal sized.question about Dominiques eggs...do they ever get bigger?? My pullet is laying very small ones and I'n wondering if they will get any bigger as she grows up?? She is my sweetest hen, I'd love to have ALL doms, but if their eggs remain this small I don't think customers will want to pay the same price as they do for my big eggs.
