Your childhood and your grandmother sound like they were both pretty cool @CacklingRanch . You are a skilled descriptive writer! The new birds are gorgeous, I usually think of greys or whites, maybe some reds when it comes to homers, I have never seen birds with these beautiful patterns though.

@dpenning They definitely can. I have a single house pigeon who knows how to step up when asked (or, hop up moreso), and she is really affectionate and cuddly. They do seem really fun to keep as hobby birds out in a loft, but they also make excellent companion birds.
 
Well they’re here! I got the call this morning.

When I went to pick them up the lady at the post office was curious what was in the box because normally when I have birds shipped, it’s chickens. Chickens crow. Loudly. All. Day. Long.

She then got a brief history lesson on pigeons and took a business card from me. She’s new. She’ll learn me soon, I shop a lot of eggs and birds.
