Donald!!! - Gone without a trace…

I trap first then dispatch with a .22 rifle. Makes a quick clean kill. Trapping makes it a surer thing.
Takes a wise man to trap coyotes
Not because its hard but becuase its way easier than hunting them.

We used to make snairs from aircraft cable and catch big coyotes in cape breton.

My grandfather used to tie a soup bone to a string, put it out in the yard and tie the string to a pot on the fridge in the kitchen through the window... It would wake him up and he would go shoot it. Love my redneck roots

I’m so very sorry to hear about Donald.
I can’t think of any place where an unsecured duck is not a target for a preditor.
Once they have had one duck they will always come back for more. All you can do is protect those that are left.
Aside from always housing them from dusk to dawn, having protective species like donkeys and dog breeds like Grand Pyrenees can also help.
Even my Labrador , despite its reputation for retrieving ducks, helps to chase away the large cranes from their pond and bark at the vultures, buzzards, hawks and eagles that lurk in the trees and air above. My ducks run right into the pond when they hear him.
