Don't know what breed my baby chick is...

I'll be the oddball out and disagree with the welsummer assessment. Do pencilled welsummers even exist? My welsummers are not feathering out with so much white and are a more uniform brownish/reddish color. They also had a much more pronounced chipmunk pattern when they were little chicks, like this:

at 2 weeks -- color is distorted because of the red heatlamp:

I don't remember what everyone else said, I said "partridge OR penciled"....I think that if it IS a Welsummer, it's definitely a boy, due to the lack of definition on the "v" on the head and less eyeliner...

I think partridge, i had chicks hatch that look like yours. They were mixed pekin/silkie, the lady i got the eggs from had partridge pekins.

when i had Americana chicks they looked just like this so im going to have to go with americana (not sure if that is correct spelling so sorry if its not)

The chipmunk striped chicks you buy at the feed store that are sold as "Ameraucanas" are actually Easter Eggers. Ameraucanas have slate or black legs, and the only variety that has stripes are silvers, and their down is different colors than this chick...
